Day 1: If you won the lottery, you would…
… become to a nouveau riche, maybe?
Wait, have you ever heard nouveau riche? As I found on Google, it means “newly rich” in French. In Indonesian language, it refers to Orang Kaya Baru (OKB), means people who are newly rich. Unfortunately, they have negative connotation. Simply, with their new money, they will have high consumption, buying upper class goods and services, and their lack of experience become rich people make them showing their ostentation.
But, no, I won’t be the negative one when I won a lottery. I guess I would be the innocent OKB instead because I really don’t know what to do with that lots of money, lol.
Recently, I had a conversation about OKB with my friend on Instagram’s direct message.
Me: I hope I will be a rich person someday.
Him: Sometimes I imagine that a billions money fall from the sky. I would like to have it.
Me: Me too! I will have a vacation to Japan with it.
Him: Can’t agree more.
Me: I will buy everything in there too, lol. And fulfill my dream to study in Japan because the cost is so expensive.
Him: I would make a new company in there and never go back home.
Me: Eh, you’re right. New company! I forgot that I’m rich already, LOL. Become rich people is unusual for me, hahaha.
Him: It’s understandably for OKB. 😂
Me: So, this is how OKB’s feels, though it’s just my imagination. 😂
I am really innocent OKB, ain’t I?
