Day 31: What does Halloween means to you?
It doesn’t have meanings for me, to be honestly. 😅
Indonesia doesn’t familiar with Halloween. We don’t celebrate it like other countries, like in America and Japan―but yes there are Indonesian people who still celebrate halloween.
Wait, how to say it, hmm….
You can say thay Halloween in Indonesia is less popular than Christmas. You can’t find sale in Halloween day, but you can find a lot of big sale in Christmas day―even weeks before the day. I think it also because Christmas is annual festival for Christian, it related to religion―and we can’t find it on Halloween.
But, last week, I saw Halloween discounts from a toys shop in a mall. But, seems the discounts only for the Halloween costumes, not for all products.
Halloween for me is kinda … “I know it,” and it’s enough. I’m not celebrating it, but I know symbolizes of Halloween; The scary pumpkin, the costumes party, etc. Scooby-doo is one of all media that introduce Halloween to me.
Oh! Also Spongebob Squarepants and The Fairy Oldparents! Aah, they are very nostalgic because nowadays I don’t watch TV too much. 😅
